It is very effective against the first few bosses, namely: the Lognagaiser, Gil Balor and the Verges. It’s one of the quickest legions to level up in the game and serves as an adequate “starter” legion and can very well be any player's mainstay legion for the entirety of the game with adequate preparations to counter its shortcomings. Strengths: The Sword Legion is very effective against Organic monsters and fairs well against Non-Organic ones.If you press the Force Attack key, this legion will begin to attack a targeted foe or multiple foes with a high-hit combo of sword jabs, which will decimate any organic enemies in seconds. Unfortunately its sword attacks are very ineffective against metallic foes, and by chapter 8 where metallic enemies appear more often players will have to offset this particular legion's weakness somehow. It is generally very useful when fighting against a large number of organic enemies and its unrelenting barrage of attacks are devastating both as a crowd control tool or concentrated dps source.
This legion is a ground-based legion that attacks using swords. They wear blue, metallic armour on their right arms and have leathery forearm protectors on each arm. The back of these helmets bear several spike-like protrusions protruding backwards. Each wears a helmet that covers the top half of their faces. I had a decent time, and I wonder if Capcom was forced to choose between the 2 franchises instead of expanding on both. The Sword legionnaires are shoulder high, knight-like beings each equipped with a broadsword.
Promising, but since it lacks the lighthearted quips found in DMC, it has a pronounced sense of the edginess found in some anime or comic books. The story and aesthetic borrow from themes of heaven and hell, the 7 sins, the afterlife, and so on. You also pick up items during combat that offer upgrades, stats and recovery. The game has an EXP system, and earned EXP can be spent on upgrades for both you and any of your unlocked/equipped spirits. You can also summon a spirit/demon that helps you in battle. Combos are present, they feel pretty limited, though this may be because this game came out right after DMC2, so this entire formula was still being developed. I won't be able to play through the entire game, but from what I've seen so far is there's swords (no guns) but you can still juggle enemies, jump and attack, etc. The old /r/patientgamers Essential Games ListĪlso from Capcom, Chaos Legion may be right up your alley.
